Sadly I have to pass on that Algy died this morning at 1am at Wesley Hospital in Brisbane. He didn't recover from the lung operation to remove a tumour caused from asbestos exposure.
It's hard to believe he was on 5% disability for this condition - one wonders how crook you have to be to get 50-100%. Algy's family was at his side.

Agis received a hell of a good send off. Wall to wall stokers plus one gunnery officer. It was a fine tribute to a great stoker.
