Yep, I also had a soft spot for The Duke. Loved his wicked sense of humour.

And I also, great, wicked sense of humour and a devoted sense of loyalty. Shame he didn't quite make his ton, would have been a great shin dig.

My Father-in-Law was in the RN and served as a LS Flag Waver.He served with Prince Philip at sea in either HMS KG V or HMS Kempenfeldt,I cannot remember which one.
Anyway he was hanging around the Bridge when Prince Philip was OOW and was asked what was he up to.Eventually Prince Philip told him to "
off my Bridge"

I suspect he held similar thoughts on

Have to agree to all the above. He would have been an awesome addition to the Rocks Run, a real Man's Man.
