Subject: Another MOBI Passing

Bob,

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the passing of another MOBI.
Dave Henderson’s wife Meg informed me that Dave passed away this morning at 3:00 AM in Cairns after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Dave joined in January 1968 - 18 months after me - and due to the way the navy worked in those days we were often drafted to the same ships over a period of time.
Dave became a life long friend and like many of our “better halves” Meg and my wife Cheryl have been staunch friends for over 45 years.
Details of Dave’s funeral are unknown at the moment and unfortunately due to Covid restrictions these days I don’t know whether I will make it to Cairns from Mount Gambier to attend.
If you could pass this sad news on to your wide network maybe some ex navy people could attend the funeral (when details are known) to show Meg and her family that we never forget.

That fact regardless, if I'm here in Cairns (fly out south on Friday) I will attend as a Mobi representative.

CJ, Dave was a Tiffy. From what I now understand, Dave and his wife Meg, moved to Cairns recenlty to be close to family.

According to the SH member list, Dave did his 20 years and after Nirimba, he served in Melbourne, Kuttabul, Basilisk, Cerberus, Supply, Snipe, Curlew, Brunei.

Dave Henderson’s funeral will be held at 10:00 AM (Queensland time) on Tuesday 23 February 2021 at Burkin Svendsen Chapel – 411 Mulgrave Road, Westcourt, Queensland.
