Sad news from Bob Mummery about the passing of Chippy “Yuk Yuk” Cooper.

We unfortunately lost Wayne quite unexpectedly over last weekend. He was part of a small group of guys, all former Navy and most of them MOBIs, that meet on the first Wednesday every month for a light lunch and reminisce on tall but true stories. Apart from his family and other friends, our small group will miss him.

Wayne Laurence COOPER - R43186, Jan 66 Intake. Wayne was back termed twice and spent the majority of his time at Nirimba with our term.



He did his Vietnam service with 8 x trips in HMAS Sydney from 1970 to 1972.

Condolences to all his family and friends.

Caught up with Wayne from time to time. Sad to bid him farewell.

Shared a cabin with Billy Chick and Wayne was a senior in our hut at the time. Can barely remember what term it was these days. Always polite, even tempered and funny. Treated us well and we respected him for that. Rest In Peace.
