LCDR John Simmons O42462

It is my melancholy duty to report the passing today, Sunday 7th Januaryi in the Sunshine Coast area, of my brother-in-law LCDR John Simmons of the January, 1961 intake. John was the inspiration for my joining the RAN in 1967, an affair which has lasted 51 years to date. Funeral details will be posted when known.

I knew John reasonably well, served with him a couple of times as we joined soon after him and he was a Chippy.
Rest in peace buddy, another early MOBI gone.

Sad news about John Simmons, he was a good bloke and I'd like to pass on my sincerest commiserations to his family, sadly the last time I saw "Simmo" was at another funeral, Roger Oysten's.

I think I served with him once but cant remember where.
A nice guy and like others have said taken too soon

John's funeral will be held next Monday at 1100. The address is 202 Eumundi-Noosa Road, Noosaville, QLD. I believe the wake will be at the Cooroy RSL where John was President for many years.
