VALE - 8th MOBI Intake (Jan.'60) 'Greenie' Colin Burns...

More sad news from Bob Mummery... 
It is with much regret that I advise of the passing of Colin Burns on the 7th of January last following a short illness of mesothelioma.
Colin was a term mate of the Jan 60 intake of MOBIs among which I was also placed. Colin achieved the position of Dux of the Term at our graduation and served on as an Electrical Artificer / SAW3 and was among the commissioning crew of HMAS PERTH (DDG 38) and later in HMAS VENDETTA on the gun line in Vietnam. After leaving the Navy in 72 he, and fellow term mate Gordon Armstrong worked together at the Satellite Tracking Station in Carnarvon Western Australia. Later he moved to Canberra working in the fledgling TAFE organisation rising to a very senior position in that organisation prior to retirement. He leaves behind his wife Sue, daughter Alison and son Peter.
