Went to the funeral today of our esteemed RSL Sub-Branch member Frank Kerr, knew nought of his life till his son Kerry (also an ex chief stoker) read the Eulogy.
Frank, better known as Darkie was a champion boxer and footballer but amongst all the reflections it was revealed he was the canteen manager at Nirimba for about two years in the early years of apprentice training. maybe some of the early entry blokes may remember him
