I almost had Anne convinced to go again this year. However, she has only enough time on the books to take off four days. While attending is still a tempting thought, I was told that spending those four days in the air just to spend the weekend in Sydney is not something she is going to do.

Anne also said I wasn't going without her. I suppose that she feels I need someone to keep an eye on me after the last time I traveled somewhere without her. For some reason she thinks that 19 stitches, a concussion, mild TBI, two eye surgeries and a rebuilt eye is too high a cost for a decent time. Yes, I did get pictures.

We will, Fred. It's a pity you won't be there but we promise to raise a glass - or two - in your honour.

Seeing as there's been no objections to date, The Basin Trials (Friday 1st November 2019) will commence at 1200 or thereabouts at the Frisco, and will continue until we get sick of the place and move to somewhere else. Shep and I will be there at the start and, seeing as his missus and my missus are going to 'a show' that night, we may be around the 'Loo until quite late.

Or at least until one of us (usually me) falls over.

FYI Confirmation has now been received from both of our eatery venues...

I’ve updated your booking to 18

We are in the final stages of our new spring menu, but the changes are not massive we will still have majority of our bar meals
stay the same, especially our classics i.e. fish and chips, meat pie, pasta, steak, pizza and bar snacks.

The only main changes will be to pricing and our salad range.

I will send you through the new menu once is it is in our bar, but our website will be updated when ready so keep your eye out.

I have actually been in Sydney for the last week or so and hoping for a miracle to take place that would allow me to attend this years run but alas, the miracle gods refuse to play the game, so I will be heading back home next monday.

Sitting in a restaurant in Terrigal, having brekky, and watching a huge pod of dolphins frolicking in the calm bay out the front.

Feel like going back to sea again.....
