Although not a forum member many of you would have crosse the path of Merv from Spring Hill in Brisbane where he passed aeay yesterday after a long battle with his health
Merv would have been 81 next month
I served with him on the Voyaager and I've been told that one of the last things he murmored where the words "DO4 for ever more"
To us younger crew members in the greenies mess he was a father figure and fondly referred to as "The beast from the East"
