It Has been reported that Two Ex RAN Sailors Have set a new "Guiness Drinking Record" it is believd that the two started with warm up flashers at a private homeThen proceeded to the Port Kennedy RSl this is were it is believed that the record was set.
The couple who will remain nameless for now were urged on by an unrully mob who will also remain nameless paced the drinkers well into the night
AS the night progessed the group of dedicated drinkers either new or new a story of every sailor who ever sailed on a ship of the RAN.

Well.....guys.....what can i say, it was a GOOD run.
Warming flashes began at approx 1500 here, with Viv, myself and Don (Tug) Wilson, an ex Chief greenie......he was an instructor in the greeny's workshop at Nirimba, so a few of you "green steamies" may remember him.....photos en route as i type this. Several pics were taken but will only send off two, just to identify the culprits involved.
No manner of coaxing would get Viv into the *spa* for a pic of the "Bubble Bros", either during warmers, or when we returned home at about 0130.
An abundance of Guiness was consumed, heaps of warries were spun, all the world's problems were *solvered* and everyone had a rip snorter of a time. Unfortunately several starters failed to arrive, but the 8 of us that attended did the "sandgropers" proud. Ahem.......i believe most of you ESC would have had trouble keeping up
Might i mention that Viv and myself were the last to leave the RSL premises, they locked the door as we wobbled out, we bundled into the SS and headed for home, where Viv produced a *woobler* of Chardonay, and as we had not had enough, we naturally had to partake of a few glasses........"pass da plagon Viv"
I must admit that Mrs L was a top hostess and never once complained during the entire event, she did the taxi stuff to and from, even joined us towards the end at the RSL, and sat with us out the back at 0200 while Viv and I just had to have those nightcaps.
Surprisingly, we scrubbed up pretty orright next morning, had a brew or two, and Viv headed for home.
Having a quarterly *smokie* was run by the troops and seemed to get a favourable reception, so we will look at that a little more seriously very soon. Some time in March looks good for the next....so all the sandgropers please keep your eyes on this forum, how does FREO sound for the next one

As the photos were taken reasonably early, mainly before the Guiness kicked in, and the camera safely stowed, not heaps were taken, but twas primarily a group pic to show the imbibers.
The "barbed wire"......hmmm, never noticed it Rick, but wonder if the RSL put it up for our lil mob, to KEEP US IN That being the case, it bloody worked extremely well, kept us IN till stumps and beyond. In actual fact, the Port Kennedy RSL is a new establishment, and has a huge membership, with considerable being ex-sailors. Any WA bods that live in the Rockingham/Warnbro area are most welcome to join.....food is good, booze is cheap (and COLD) and there is regular entertainment, even when Viv and I aren't there
For Rick's info........Rockingham is 50kms south of Perth City, and Warnbro/Pt Kennedy are southern suburbs of *the swinging pig*.
HMAS Stirling is in actual fact within Rockingham, be it that the depot is on Garden Island, but all the marriedies live locally.
Hopefully, for our next adventure, we will have attracted more starters, and some females, and THEN, maybe we will post some *gotcha* pics.
