Passing of Ian Martin Ex-LSMTP. (S121480). It's with regret that I inform that Ian passed away last Monday night (24 July 2017) having succumbed to the demons of times past.
Ian joined in December 1977 and discharged in May 1985, as deduced by Brian Carney. He served on all three DDGs and proudly steamed in the PO's billet as a LS.
He had many interests: restoring vintage motorcycles, showing chooks and dogs, and assisting the veterans' community here in Wingham as the RSL Sub Branch Secretary and Pensions Advocate. He was an active member of the NSW Rural Fire Service for many years.
He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the veteran and wider community. Individually our loss is great but collectively that loss is yet to be realised.
Ian’s funeral service will be held at Manning Memorial Gardens, Pampoolah, Taree
commencing at 2pm on Thursday 3rd August 2017.
We extend our deepest condolences to Ian’s widow, Jessica, and
their family.
