Quoting another post in your reply...

To include a quote from someone else's post in your reply is very easy...

STEP 1: Simply click on the button of the post you want to quote...
You'll find it in the top right hand corner of their post... Yup, way over there...



STEP 2: When you click on the quote button in their post, you'll see this...



STEP 3: If you don't want to include ALL of their post in the quote, highlight
the parts you don't want and simply delete them, being very careful to
leave intact the [ quote="Hippy Chippy"] and [ /quote] at the start and
finish of the part of the quote you want to keep, as shown below...



STEP 4: Add your own comments below the quote to reply to it, like so...




STEP 5: Hit [Submit] and your post will then look like the one below...



Which you'll agree, looks smarter/ less confusing than doing it this way...



i.e., by just using quotation marks on a 'copy and paste' from an earlier post...

BTW... You can also quote a post from an unrelated Topic, posting it into a Topic of your choice...


1. Hit the button on the post you want to quote...

2. Select all of the text (the quote) in the panel, then Crtl+X to cut it out...

3. Hit the 'Back' <- button (top left of screen) on your browser...

4. Go to the Topic you'd like to post into, hit 'Post Reply'...

5. Go Ctrl+V to paste the quote into your post... (You can edit the quote if you don't want to use it all...)

6. Add your own message (and Smilies) below the quoted text...

7. Hit 'Submit'... voila...!

Ever quote someone else's post, but it doesn't quite look like the original..? We'll address that in my post below...

Notice at the very beginning of a quoted post that there is a :something: within two semi-colons..? It happens when the person's
post you're quoting started their post with an 'emoticon', or 'Smiley', like I just did with this at the start of this sentence...

When you click on EDIT, you'll notice there's NO SPACE between the right bracket ']' and the first semi-colon ':'...

Simply put a SPACE between the right bracket ']' and the first semi-colon ':' then hit SUBMIT...

There you go, all fixed...!!!
