Attended Steve's funeral in Newcastle last Friday 27th June. Big turn out for a fantastic bloke who achieved great things in and out of the Navy. He will be well missed by family, friends and shipmates.

Max was a '90 Day Wonder' and my first boss, along with Barney Warren, on the DUCHESS in 1975. He knew exactly where to clout the valves on the hoists to get them working! Took us under his wing and gave us good practicle training following NIRIMBA. Sad news.
