I wish to pass on the sad news of the passing of my long time good friend WOMTH Russ Norrish.
Russ originally joined up as a ME shortly after the time when Direct Entry tradesmen were not being recruited. He was later given the opportunity to change to a Chippie. RIP my friend.

As well as being a talented chippy, Jock was a very good sportsman.
He represented many ships in cricket teams.

Jock also ran with the Olympic flame in country Victoria on its journey to Melbourne in 1956 just 2 months before arriving at Nirimba.

Jock passed away peacefully at Inverell yesterday morning. I had the pleasure of Jock's friendship for over 60 years from the time when the Mobi population doubled from 50 to 100 in Janurary 1957. Together with Joe Manton I travelled up to see him 2 weeks ago. We just chatted and reminisced old time...
